Default Dead Battery and door locked. 2004 Diamante

2004 Diamante doors locked and battery is dead. Key turns both way in driver side but does not unlock door. Can not pop hood as the release is inside the car.

Any ideas?

Can your key open the trunk? Maybe you can lay the back seat down to gain access and pop the hood.

get a crowbar and a long sturdy metal stick with a hook at the end of it.
slightly and carefully have someone pry the door open while you use the metal stick to hit the unlock switch inside the door..
good luck!

it should take a few times to get the unlock switch but stay calm and you should be able to unlock it

Default Dead Battery

I am experiencing this same issue. Dealer service says it can't happen. Apparently they don't know their cars. When car battery dies you can't get into the car. Door lock is electronically assisted and won't work when car battery is dead. Door lock won't open manually off key -- only off the electronic assist. Great engineering there guys! Can't open hood from outside the car to jump it off. Can't open the trunk for back seat access 'cause there's no key hole. Have to call wrecker for a "Slim Jim" unlock to get in - no other option (except breaking window). This is ridiculous!

the door should unlock with the key. someone probably knocked the rod from the key to the latch with a slimjim. If you can get in the trunk, yhat will be the best approach.

Default dead battery

You'd think it would manually open, but nope. No manual control rod on 2004 Diamante. Only operates off electric assist lock. No trunk access. No key hole to open it with. Break window, pry trunk or hood, or "slim Jim". Sadistic engineer who designed this should be beaten.
