fluid in reservoir on passenger side undercarriage rear
I have a fluid hose that goes to a container on the bottom right undercarriage of my 2003 Montero full size truck. The end of the tubing connecting to the hose broke and most if not all of the fuild leaked out. I repaired the line. Now I need to know what type of fluid was in there and where to replace it from. It does not look or smell like transmission or brake fluid or engine oil, and none of those fluid reservoirs are low in the engine compartment.
Can you help.

This is not antifreeze. It is some sort of brown oil. It does not look like engine oil or transmission fluid. It may be some sort of gear oil or differential oil.
It runs from that reservoir under the left back fender through 4 copper tubs laid on the undercar body. I am able to trace them as far as the center of the car, then they disappear under a whole lot of other parts.

I have looked at the oil again and I have also tried to trace the tubes further. I now believe that it may in fact be motor oil.
Are there 2 oil lines that travels from the front to the rear of the undercar in two metal tubes?...looks like tarnished copper tubing?
