Hi everybody I'm new to this site. I recently bought my daughter a 2000 Galant. I'm having a little problem with it right now and was hoping someone would have some advice. The car starts good and idles fine. When I put the car in drive it starts vibrating. When I take off from a stop it vibrates pretty bad. Once it gets to about 15 or 20 m.p.h. it drives great. I'm hoping it's only some kind of idle or throttle sensor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

You didnt say if the CEL is on but it sounds like you have an ignition misfire. Without hooking up to a scantool I would say go by the Mitsu dealer and get two coil pack boots and a set of plugs. All you need is a 10mm socket, a 5/8 sparkplug socket and an extension. The boots pull off the coilpack. You will probably be out about $45. let me know how it comes out.
