Heating Question
My '96 Eclipse RS (420A) has a problem with the heating inside the car. You can start the car, let it idle to operating temperature, the heat works fine. If you do this when it's extremely cold outside, and begin to drive the car, the temperature guage drops to the coldest point, and it starts blowing COLD air. Could this be the THERMOSTAT?? I don't want to go through another WINTER without heat.

RE: Heating Question
UGGHHHHH!!!!! I purchased the $12.98 thermostat yesterday. This morning I went to replace it, I found that there wasn't a thermostat in it at all. Problem solved. Hmmmm.... Must have been a half *** mechanic that rebuilt this motor. So as I went to place the NEW thermostat in place, I find out it's not the right one. Dammit!! If this motor is a true '98 Neon motor, then I guess I have to replace it with a Neon thermostat.

RE: Heating Question
Ok... Just replaced the thermostat. I had to use the Neon thermostat. Believe it or not, it was $5.00 cheaper. I never knew buying a car was supposed to be such a pain in the assets. Next project.

RE: Heating Question
Yeah, there's no telling what else may be missing. I know the oil pan, and the valve cover gasket's appear to be missing. I really don't plan on putting a whole lot of effort into this motor. This Spring I would like to replace it with a Short Block. I'm not wanting to go too extreme, but would like it to have more get up and go than most.
I'd just like to say thanks for all the HELP!!
