Default Help! no Start Eclipse 90



Hi! i own a 90 eclipse and suddenly this morning it wont start?? batt. term. is a lil loose and corroded but cleaned it and still wont start! i only here a "tick" sound everytime i try to turn it on. HELP MEE PLEASE!!! what do you think is the problem?? is t the battery?? terminals???? starter??? what ya think??

It ticks? Have you tried jumping it yet? Sounds like possibly a bad starter soleniod... Try tapping the starteer with a hammer or wrench if it turns over then then you have a bad starter soleniod you'll need to replace the starter. And tap it a good one no light taps. Smack it good and try to start. That may get you through a few days but I wouldn't push it.

Loose terminal and corrosion? Your battery is dead. It was not getting a good charge because of the loose connection and corrosion. Clean the terminals with water and baking soda. Reconnect the terminals. Give it a jump and you are good to go. However, if your battery is more than 5 years old, get a new one.

just wanna thank you guys!!! i'll try to change the terminals tonight and then maybe buy a new starter.. i apppreciate it a lot! by the way do you have any idea where i can find the location of the starterin my eclipse??

The starter should be on the back, underside of your engine.

You are going to try the little (and free) things these guys suggested first right? It would be a shame to run out and buy parts without testing what you have.
