How hard is a clutch job on an 02 Lancer?
GF's car, she just got a new job that requires a lot of driving and it sounds like, as of today, the clutch is going.. I'd noticed it having trouble with 3rd last week..
Sooooo.... We're broke, and I usually work on the cars myself to save coin, but this car seems kinda weird and I've heard a lot of Mitsu's are funky to work on and need special tools (true?? - I love the cars this is just what I hear..) - how hard is this job on a scale of 1-10? I got a buddy that would probably help me and he's a good wrench, better than me, but that's ok 'cause I'm a better driver
Thanks..

on a scale of 1-10....idk maybe 5. Its not all that difficult. There are much harder cars to do a clutch on than that one. I reccomend getting a manual if they have one for your car. Either from haynes or something along those line. But im sure you could handle the job.
My buddy has tools and air. The cheapest kit we can find is 375 though!! Seems kinda pricey.. I also read that it's an 11 hour job for the 02, wtf?? Just for a clutch?? Does this sound right? Are there Mitsu special tools needed? Never wrenched on a Mitsu before..
Ive never worked on a lancer. But id assume they are not different then some other mitsu's and there really isnt any special tools. I could be wrong on that car though. And that price for a clutch kit seems pretty accurate.
