Default wipers moved very slow then stopped

I noticed this week that my wipers on my 04 Endeavor started moving very slow (no matter what speed they were set on) then tonight they stopped in the middle of the window.

About 4 month ago they started squeaking, when DH investigated he found that the pivot gear box on the passenger side was froze, so he losened the locknut nut so it was free, no more squeek.

Does anyone have any idea what may be the issue?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Check the wiper transmission and make sure it moves free. Alos here is an old school trick, w/ the wipers on tap the wiper motor w/ a hammer and see if they start working.

Thank you for the reply, I figured out why they stopped.... it seems that my ignition switch was stuck. When I turned the key it stuck in no man's land, I had no lights, no radio, no display. Once I figured that out the wipers at least went down. But they still move like they are in slow motion.

Is there any way you can spray some WD40 or some kind of lubricant into the motor assembly ?
