Default idling RPMs issue

I have an issue which is similiar to ones ive read on this site but mine's alittle different. I drive an 01 eclipse spyder with about 70k miles and whenever I drive for more then 15 mins straight and come to a stop such as a red light, my RPM needle starts to idle. The idlingcan go upto 2 or 3k rpms and often gives my cara little push. TheRPMs start to fluctautebut the car does notcompletely stall. My guess is that its somethingto do with my battery or the power output, becuasewheneverimon parkandI crank up the heater all the way,my car starts toidlle for a bit and thenitcomes to a complete stall. Ifanyone has similiar problems or knows what goinon, I would really appreciateyour advise.

I have an '01 eclipse gt with 88k on it. I had a problem similar to that, it was the tensioner pulley on the alternator, it was nearly off when I finally found out the problem. So I suggest checking the belt, the power output and the pulleys. Every time i turned on the defroster, stereo loud, or the heater the car would die.

hello! sounds like to me you need to adjust the idle speed. sounds like its a little to low. the idle adjust screw is on the throttle body. to increase the idle turn it counter clockwise, base idle, with all accessories off, in park is 750-800rpm's. good luck!! greg...
