Intermittent power loss on Mitsi Charisma
Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone could shed any light on this?
I own a Mitsubishi Charisma (2002). I recently took it for a service and since it has developed an intermittent fault, where it will, for no reason, temporarily lose power and any ability to accelerate. For example, from standing, this will make it difficult to get up to speed, or when at speed the car will slowly lose power and drop in revs to stabilise at a lower speed. But each time it happens, it disappears after a minute or so and I can accelerate again.
I've taken it back to the garage who did the service, and they have been over all the points of the service, but as the problem is intermittent and it hasn't occured while they've had it, they can't even identify the problem. No fault codes are shown and no warning lights appear on the dash.
One strange thing to point out: it only ever happens in the morning, shortly after first start, but the problem subsides after about half an hour. When driven again later in the day, it runs with no problems.
Any ideas as to what could cause such an intermittent fault or has seen this before?
Cheers,
Joe
