just bought 95 GSX need help

Ok I went to the site and the closest thing I saw was a leakdown test? Is this the same thing?

ok thank you. i found out what part of the ticking is....theirs a couple vaccume lines that have different colors on them that run from the intake manifold to a sensor mounted on the firewall i changed it and it quit tickin. one last question i got a valve cover from the junkyard and put it on when i was tightening it down it cracked it wasnt that tight are these valve covers cheaply made or what?

to fix the idle problem after u change the valve cover gasket try changing the iacv idle air control valve it controls the idle speed of the vehicle if you idleing to high or too low the iacv or the tps throttle position sensor is to blame also clean the throttle body and change the throttle body gasket and see what that does the choke on the throttle body could be held open by build up grease

You dont need to crank down on the bolts. I've never cracked a vc.

i changed the iacv and the tps it helped tremendously....i found out the bolts that hold the valve cover down are stripped out. I wasnt tightening the valve cover down hard at all in fact it was just past hand tight. the bolts in the center of the valve cover is were its cracked but thanks for all the help

and my head gasket is blown after all i did a comression check its around 90 on all four cylinders leaking coolant like crazy im goin to fix this and see what other problems it has

I used to have the same problem which makes hell of noise. They make a 3g revised lifter that takes care of the noise.
