I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage LS with the 1.8 engine and 145,000 miles on her. When I take my foot off the clutch in neutral I hear a humming or hydraulic kind of sound from the front left. I was afraid it was the transmission and took it in. I had a new clutch put on and the trans fluid flushed and replaced but still have the noise. When I asked the tech about it he told me it was just a neutral whine and nothing to be concerned with. In other words its normal for the five speed.

Has anyone else had this issue? What would stop the problem?
