I have a 2000 Mirage DE with a 1.8 L engine. This morning on my way to work, I heard a "snap" sound. I pulled over to investigate, and I find that the "engine brace" has rusted through and broken. I did a search on the Auto Zone website trying to find the name and part number, but without luck.

The brace is underneath the engine, and, as shown in the picture below, is bolted to the frame as indicated by the red squares. It runs perpendicular to the engine as shown by the red line. Does anyone know the name for this part? Thanks!

The picture didn't post, so here is a more descriptive description: the brace runs underneath the engine and bolts to the frame near the front of the vehicle (by the radiator). It runs straight back towards the back of the car and bolts to the frame again near the middle of the car.

 

I can't think of the name, but call a local mitsu parts dept. It's a mitsubishi only part. Its cost is about $125.
