PLEASE ASAP.....
i was just wondering if the a/c and power steering are the only things running on that belt if so i want to take the belt off because the tensioner pulley is squeeling real bad and worse when rpm's go up. is it safe to take the belt off???
Technically, you could and it would hurt anything but you'll grow Popeye forearms and have no A/C. You won't want to turn your steering wheel while your vehicle is moving lower than 7mph or so. On the rational side, this isn't very good for those hydraulic rack and pinion btw. They're not meant to take that punishment. They are supposed to be assissted by the fluid, thus assissting you.
Why don't you just replace the pulley? Go to a junkyard and pick up a used one from the same vehicle.
What vehicle is this anyway?
Welcome to MF btw.
