Question Service engine soon

O.K. folks, I got two of my problems fixed thanks to FireDoc. After changing the water temp sensor my car starts and runs great and the fans no longer run all the time. Just left with one more problem. The "service engine light" still stays on. This came on after I pulled the engine to fix a busted water pump bolt. On an 03' eclipse with the 2.4L, is there a reset for that circuit. I'm thinking that by disconnecting everything it's reading something incorrect but I don't know what. Any idea's would be appreciated. Also want to say Thanks FireDoc. Your suggestion was right on.

Glad I could be of service! As to your check engine light, the two places I would start are: 1. Reset by disconnecting the battery (if you haven't already) and leave it off for 15 to 20 minutes before reconnecting it.
2. If it comes back on, go to autozone (or equivalent) and have the code read. It's free at autozone. It should give you some direction as to why the computer is upset. It may be as simple as something you missed when you reconnected everything, or yet another sensor, etc...
