Could be a head gasket, or an air bubble in the cooling system.
You can rent a tester that hooks onto your radiator where the cap screws on, and you run the car and it'll tell you if your head gasket is leaking.
The fact that you're having trouble under load leads me to believe a blown head gasket. If you don't want to rent the tester then just let the car idle with the radiator cap off, and watch when the thermostat opens. If you see a crap load of bubbles, then you know you've got a head gasket failure. If you have no bubbles after the thermostat opens, then rev it up a little and see if that creates any. There should be NO bubbles.

Remove your radiator cap and look at the inside...check for oil dep...Head gasket or Head itself. Smell it what does it smell like. There shouldn't be any oil deposits on it at all. Look at the filler bottle is there oil deposits in it.....
