Default ECU Question

Sorry Admin!! I know this is in the wrong area to post this. But i couldn't figure out which to post into. Do it yourself, internal wiring, etc ::shrugs:: Annnywaaay

My ECU is shot. and i need a new one.

1. Are they hard to replace?
2. I found one on EBay for a 97 Eclipse GST with an Automatic Tranny. I've got a 5 Speed. Will the ECU still work?

Thanks!!

you cant use the suto tranny ECU though.

And ECU is only a few screws and unplugging the wire harness to swap out it is that simple. I would NOT buy one on ebay though. If your goona buy one look for someone parting out a car or someone who went to a stand alone unit that no longer needs there stock ECU

reason I say no about ebayh is you dont know if they have been tampered with on ebay you might get a flashed ecu or something like that.
