Default mitsubishi to leave US?

I was reading the new motor trend and they had a little snippet of info...some chief guy at mitsu. said if their sales dont pick up they're gonna pull out of the U.S. Has anyone heard anything else about this? Forgive me if this has been covered in another thread.

This is what I have seen:

Mitsubishi: We won't leave U.S.
Despite recent rumors that it is considering leaving the United States, Mitsubishi insists it's here to stay. Hiroshi Harunari, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc., said the company has been selling vehicles in the United States for the last 25 years, and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future. "The next 25 years begins today with the full support of the Mitsubishi group companies," he said in an interview with Automotive News. Recently, Mitsubishi product strategist Shinichi Kurihara said the automaker's new vehicles have to “be successful for us to stay in business in the U.S.‿

Shinichi Kurihara seems to have everything under control judging by his statement

I talked to my dealer about this and from what they say they were all informed that mitsu aint going nowhere anytime soon. They are gonna keep bringing new products and start to market them more. I think mitsu has excellent products but they dont try to push or advertise them enough so nobody really notices them. I would buy a mitsu over anything pretty much....
