Well after all things considered... the Subaru looks best suited.

Are you only interested in automatics?

 

They are both great cars in there respect. I would have to say that the impreza has the best option. Being awd. There both reliable cars. mazda speeds are stepping up to the plate finaly once again. there speed 3 is a very high potential car. I would say it could come down to awd vs fwd. parts available or not.

 

Just smack that Subaru in the face and go with the new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS CVT... about $17k in some places, or just wait for the 2008 Mitsuibishi Lancer Ralliart to come out, which should be around the same price, and it comes with a turbo engine.
