Outlander 2014 SE - Windshield Washer Pump/Squirt
I've searched on Google and in here but nothing related to my concern so posting this hoping somebody can shed some lights...
For several years that I've owned my Outlander, when I pull the washer fluid lever towards me to spray washer fluid to my windshield it will just spray once. If I keep holding the lever it also keeps spraying washer fluid.
But lately, when I pull the lever quickly, just once, it sprays 5 times repeatedly. It always does this now even how lightly I pull the lever. This will result in my washer fluid emptying fast as it is wasting extra fluid.
Anybody knows if this can be adjusted or fixed?
TIA,
Neil

Check your owners manual. It states
The windscreen washer can be operated with
the ignition switch or the operation mode is
in ON or ACC.
The washer fluid will be sprayed onto the
windscreen by pulling the lever towards you.
When the wipers are not in operation or in in-
termittent operation, by pulling the lever to-
wards you, the wipers will operate several
times while the washer fluid is being sprayed.
The only change that can be made is to stop the wiper operating when the washers are activated. this can be done by your dealer using their diagnostic equipment

Thank you Dibby. I've read the manual and have figured it. This is what the manual says about it.
The one in red is what I was describing about. It's when I do a quick pull of the lever (quick pull and release) that it does it. If I pull the lever and hold it a little bit, then it works as I was expecting.

When the wipers are not in operation or in intermittent operation, by pulling the lever
toward you, the wipers will operate several times while the washer fluid is being sprayed.
Also, by releasing the lever soon after pulling it toward you, the washer fluid will be
sprayed several times while the wipers are operating several times.
