squealing 2g eclipse

squealing 2g eclipse
I believe that it could be the timing belt tensioner pulley or idle pulley (bearings), but recently when i start my car there is a loud and annoying squealing noise that comes from under the hood. I have a 2g eclipse gs 2.0L non-turbo and before i begin disassembling the timing belt cover and other front end pulleys i want to know if anyone has had the same problem. I noticed that it sounded like the belt was slipping when i quickly revved my rpm's to around 5k, but now the squealing will come randomly whenever i'm idling for a period of time. PLEASE HELP!

RE: squealing 2g eclipse
it might be that the belt was not properly tensioned. I had the same problem with my saturn. Baught a brand new acces. belt and a few days later it was already squeeling. I havnt even fixed it yet cuz im too lazy. But i guarentee its the acces. belt

RE: squealing 2g eclipse
The access. belt shows no signs of slipping or wear though and i tensioned it and greased the tensioner bearing. but theres a tensioner pulley on for the timing belt as well which is a cause for concern because it will be difficult to get the timing belt cover off without almost taking the entire engine out
