Hey everyone,
I am new to this group so just wanted to say hello. I joined cause I have a 1999 Montero Sport and I am having issues with my starter. I am a novice at fixing it but willing to learn more. I replaced my alternator because of oil leak in my cam that I guess shorted out my alternator. After replacing my alternator learned my starter was shot. Replaced it with new part from Advanced Auto but now it sound like a diesel truck starting up and it seems as if the starter is not disengaging from engine. It is making a high pitched grinding sound and when I give it gas it gets louder and faster. Anyone ever have this problem?
