Cat. Converter on aftermarket exhaust?
Can a stock Cat. Converter be installed on an aftermarket exhaust system and still work as if its a stock exhaust system? Or does the whole exhaust system need to be replaced? Thanks.
It would all depend on the exhaust system you are looking to purchase. It should say... "Cat-Delete" or something like "comes with a test pipe".
Most exhaust systems do allow the stock cat to be bolted up... i know mine did

sorry those high flow cats are total bull****. They do not do anything... well... unless you count 1hp (proven) as a justified increace. Nothin wrong with the stocker
Thanks a bunch...I was already planning on swapping the whole exhaust system. I just need the stock cat put on my car. I should definitely pass smog once I put it on. The first time I tested I barely failed in the 15 mph test. 2nd time, I changed my spark plugs to NGK's and I added Guaranteed to Pass Smog solution and followed the instructions on it. The day before the test I filled up my tank, next day I tested and the readings I barely passed in doubled to make it worse. Did the Guaranteed to Pass screw me over?
any body i know who has used that stuff, made it worse. You really want an easy way to pass? Right before you get there, unplug an injector, then once u leave, plug it back it. I gaurentee u will pass. My auto teacher even said it works.lol.
I've got a magnaflow high flow cat. I can't say that it decreased any restrictions, but having a 3" turboback (to include 3" in/out on the cat) doesn't hurt either
