Default RE: cai question

yes... cold air intake goes down close to the tire, and if you run over a puddle, and water jumps up, then yes, you can get screwd.
i know you can out a bypass valve on the AEM cold air intake, (not V2). sometimes the intake is hella open, and could easly get wet, and sometimes its sorta gaurded from the outside, so you shouldnt worry so much.

Default RE: cai question

I owned a Cold Air Intake on my Del Sol that sat right infront of the wheel well. Owned the car for about 2 years, didnt' have a bypass thingy, and lived in Nor cal where it rains a lot. NEVER had a problem with it.

Just be smart. If you see a puddle that you know is really deep, avoid it.

I wouldn't say it would be easy to damage them. It can be done, but not easy.
