installing a short ram..?
i'm thinking about getting an injen short ram from andysautosport.com for only 75 bucks, but the short rams by injen on modacar.com are more close to 200, whats the difference? this is my first newer car, so is there anything i need to know when installing? i see there is a sensor type thing just before the stock airbox, how do i go along hooking that up? thanks.
the CAI is different from the short ram and the CAI is like $200. the Sensor is the MAS which you disconnect from the airbox and attach the adapter that the new intake comes with then the intake filter hooks up to the other end of the adapter
the intake should come with it, it's just for the sensor to connect to. it is on the intake itself, not an additional part. plus it is made specifically for 00-02 Mitsubishi Eclipse V6 (5-Speed / Sportronic Transmission), so it should work fine. and yes, it is the IS series.
i honestly have no idea. lol
EDIT: ahh, okay. lookin at the andy's auto sport site and the manufacturers site injen.com - i've come to conclude that the $75 ones are the EIS intakes and the IS intakes are the 200+ ones from the product numbers. errrr, from what i take from the website, the EIS one are just extentions and the IS ones are the short ram intakes. err, yeh, so now im thinking those $75 ones aren't going to work because yours needs the sensor connected to it, sorry.
