Spectre Intake
I have a Spectre intake. The Tubes are Plastic. What's better a Plastic Tube or a Metal one?

when it comes to intakes on an NA car its about looks and quality really. I mean obviously a metal will last a bit longer and be more duarable. But a plastic is lighter and easier to deal with. However as far as performance goes, they are both gonna be pretty much the same
Plastic is slightly better for perfomance as it is not a conductor. Metal pipes will heat up since they are connected to the throttle body, which is heted by the coolant and this heats up the intake air charge a bit. Colder air is more dense; plastic will not heat up. As drag racers must calculate air temps, water grains, atm pressure etc. before tuning, I recall that for every 11 degree drop in intake air temperature, there is a gain of 1% FWHP for a normally aspirated engine.
