one of my tail-lights does not work...i never installed ricey tail-lights nor any aftermarket tail-lights bulbs...what may cause not to work? if i take it to ADVANCE, would they look at it

 

blown bulbs? those things die someday you know

or it could be some wiring that came lose

 

hahah ok i think i sounded mean, but its the most common issue, the tail lights use bulbs with 2 lights, a low and a high one, low is usually on all the time and high shows up when you press the brake.... its VERY common, for one of the 2 to go off... making you think the whole thing died.... but theyre easy to repair.... other thing, is that these kind of contacts need to be cleaned up every now and then, these are old cars.... electrical devices need cleaning... but remember disconnect the battery dont use water and plug battery when it all is dry

 

Broken or rusted wiring can also be a cause if your vehicle is old or left in a salty environment.
Another cause can be a bare wire that has shorted out and blown the fuse.
If you have a multimeter with a resistance function then check the bulb (one lead on the outer case and the other on each of the lead pads on the bottom). If either of the pads shows a high resistance >100 then the bulb is blown.

 

Its just a blown bulb. Go to autozone, spend $3 on a tail light bulb, pop your trunk, and work from there.

I've done it w/o the battery disconnected, but my gloves had rubber lining. Hrm. Maybe I should disconnect it next time?
