Default Balance Shaft Elimination

I have a 2000 eclipse 2.4L. I have a balance shaft problem. The front shaft by bumper of car lost the bearing. I got a new shaft and bearing and the bearing is loose in block. I have read alot of posts on alot of site's about eliminating your balance shaft's. Some say you can the leave the balance shaft in back of motor towards cab in just by taking off the belt. I was wondering if thats true. Also for the front shaft towards front bumper can I just cut that shaft down to a stub and put it back in. Can I leave that bearing out of the front shaft since I dought it would stay in. It dosent have a hole in it like the other shafts bearings. I am doing this, this weekend so if somethings wrong with my plan please tell me soon. I love my car but I really need it going now. Any and all help is appreciated. If I said something stupid I appolagize. I havent encountered a balance shaft before. Anyways thank you again.

the shaft on the left of the motor you can just leave the belt off of it the one on the right side if the bearing is loose in the block you will have a internal oil leak oil goes thru that shaft if you cut it you will see the hole in the shaft that is why the kits to get rid of the shafts do not have oil holes in them so it sounds like the block is messed up

Thank you for the reply. I cut the stub of shaft and put it back in motor. I disconnected the belt to other one. It seams to be doing good with no vibration really and is pretty quiet. Thanks for your help it was appreciated.
