I've found a 3kgt vr-4 in my area with that needs a decent ammount of work. The guy wants 4500 for it. the original motor comes with, but spun a bearing. It needs an exhaust, suspension, front half shafts, oil cooler, and a clutch/pressure plate ect. Everything seems to be in decent condition. Is it worth it?, how much would it cost to rebuild it, if i can?,and how much should i expect to pay for a used motor?

saw it on craigslist... not going to get it. Id like to pick up a 94-96 3kgt for cheap blown motor, because my plan is to completely drop a new motor in with forged internals...bored and sleeved , fuel pump,injectors, turbos(considering tdo5 20gs),strippin it out, repainting it... blah blah blah.. Im looking for a good deal, something cheap cause its all gonna be ripped apart eventually.. Any ideas where to start looking for a car like that? and no i dont beleive it was on tristate tuner, and vr4girl, ya its red...lol

 

if it's the one I'm thinking of, he had it listed a few months ago for like 6500 or 8500 with no engine, and in pieces. The dude is smoking crack.

Zach... shoot me a message with what you're looking for, etc. I'll keep an eye out in the auctions, etc. If you had gotten in touch with me about a week ago, there was a green 95 vr4 that went through auction on Monday, with 54k miles, and I think it sold for about 5k, with some superficial body damage, ran and drove, etc.

I can't buy them all, so, I'm happy to pass along any cars that I'm not picking up myself I also have a crazy deal on turbos with a new supplier of ours.
