Default 3000GT VR4 - Help For A First-Time Buyer

Hello,

I'm currently in the market for a 3000GT, but I had several questions, and was hoping that someone on these forums would be able to help me out.

Currently, I'm only looking for 94+ 3000GT VR4s. However, recently, I found a guide called "Free Boost Modification", which, for all intents and purposes, gives an equal amount of horsepower to pre-94 models.

Would someone be able to shed some light on this? Does the mod legitimately work? Is the 94+ model still better; are the cars tuned better, or it it more of a visual difference (headlights, etc.)?

Also, in my search for replacement engines/trannies, I have found that its a) easier and b) cheaper to find the 5-speed 3.0 DOHC TT engines versus the 6-speeds.

Is this the case everywhere, or only in Canada? Would it be better to get, say, a 92, just so that when a new engine needs to be put in, I dont run into these issues?

In terms of aftermarket parts, what else beyond 3SX should I check out? All websites/forums/stores are welcome.

Thanks in advance.
