3000gt won't start!!!
So I just joined and I was bragging in the new members area that I have a 1994 3000gt with 313,000 miles on it and it is running like a dream. Well it was. Thursday night I parked my car like I normally do on my return from work. Friday morning I tried to start it and it just keeps cranking but will not start. For 12 years it has always started on the first attempt. I thought I might have some water in the gas and some thing froze overnight. I am in PA and the night temps are in the teens now. I pushed it in the garage and ran the propane heater for a while and it still will not start. Can any body give me any idea's where to start. I tried spraying some starting fluid in the throttle body and it seems like it wants to start but will not. Any ideas would be great.

RE: 3000gt won't start!!!
Well I finally dug down into it. I get no spark and no power to the fuel pump. I suspected the fuel pump relay and after hours of looking I could not find it. Mine is non turbo so it turns out the fuel pump relay is part of the MFI relay which is mounted in the center console on the passenger side. After testing the relay and hooking a jumper up to 1 and 7 the pump functions. All things are pointing to the ECM \ ECU \ Engine control Module (whatever Mitsubishi decides to call it for the day). Anyone know where to get one cheap? Mitsubishi want a grand.

I am not sure what other ECM numbers will cross reference and work. Any ideas will help.

It turns out that it was the CAS (Crank angle sensor). When this goes bad you have no spark. If there is no spark detected then the injectors do not work. 500.00 to do it via mitsubishi or 150 to do it yourself. To get to it you must remove everything like you are changing the t-belt.

wow, 313,000 miles! thats alot. i have the same year and model, and mine drives smoothly, no problem. well, maybe its because it has only 72,000 miles. good luck fixing the problem.
