Default 92' 3000 GT auto trans #@!*

I have been reading through old threads about these transmissions, and I have seen that the end clutch seems to be a component that fails regularly. My question is does the end clutch affect 1 st. gear, all the gears or just OD? The trans computer is throwing 52, 54 and 86 codes. I also read that the pulse generators should have a resistance of 215-275 ohms.
Both of the P. generators are out of this range and reading 345 ohms each. I have ordered them from Mitsubishi, 93 bucks for them and I am hoping that will fix the strange trans behavior. First gear is very sluggish and sometimes the car in drive will feel as if your standing on the brakes or it is stuck between two gears. I don't know much about these cars, this thing just makes no sense to me. Maybe one of you guys can shed some light on this for me. I would welcome any advice. Thanks Dave

the end clutch is for overdrive. It has no effect on the other gears.

What is your car doing?

Trans is not working in first gear, feels like it has a trans brake, but Im sure this car couldn't generate enough power to use one. What about these pulse generators I ordered them from Mitsubishi, maybe I should have checked with the Klingons for replacement parts. I suppose next thing this car will need is new Di-lithium crystals, if you ask me this car is the biggest piece of over engineered crap I've ever had the misfortune to work on. To answer your question the car doesn't do much but sit there.

actually I dont think its even going into first gear it feels like its starting in second and sometimes it wont even move like theres is a brake on or something but it will still go in reverse, when this happens, I have to back up until I can find a tiny slope and let the car roll forward in neutral and as its rolling forward put it in drive and slowly give gas and it will then go but still like its in 2nd gear I also dont think it goes into overdrive. I just got this car and when i checked the trany fluid level....well it was black as hell and 3 quarts low, so first thing I changed fluid and filter but have sense been informed that regular off the shelve trany fluid wont work so I now must change it again, only drove it about 5 miles with this fluid.

regular trans fluid is just fine. These cars aren't super-car status.

Sounds like your trans is in limp mode, or the torque converter is bad. So, if you're not automatic-trans savvy, then I suggest buying a good used replacement trans. and/or a trans computer.
