Default cooling fans....

Why would one cooling fan stop working? Do both cooling fans operate through the Temp Sending Unit? Is one fan supposed to stay on after the ignition is in the Off position?

When the AC is on, they both should run but only one will run when the water temperature rises above a preset water temperature. As for the fan continuing to run after the ignition is off it is probably for the radiator water temperature. It is common on some vehicles for the radiator fan to run after the ignition is turned off, but I do not know specifically about your car.
