Default GTO tranny question

Hey all, is the 3L twin turbo tranny for the GTO/3000/Stealth TT 18 spline? if it is, im assuming that the one I found for $1000USD inc. shipping is a wicked deal. can anyone confirm?

Sometime during the 92 model year they went to a 25 spline tranny.

Unless it has been swapped by a previous owner, yes, you have an 18 spline.

Because the 18 spline was weak and prone to breaking when launching hard.

forgive my lack of tranny klnowledge, but the splines are contained in the bellhousing, so a 25 spline transmission should just drop in no?
