i have a 96 mitsubishi vr4 and it has aftermarket turbos and blow off valve, and nothin into the motor itself.
but i was wondering how much boost can a stock motor like this take without harming anything?

 

The motor itself i believe can handle 25psi. However that is not the weakest part... you will need fuel mods, tuning, bigger turbos... and more

 

you cannot run 25 psi stock...and nelson bernarde ran 35psi on his 6g72tt(935awhp run) but stock id say your safe for about 15psi. upgraded turbos though? hmmm like sebba said you cant just add boost becouse the turbos are bigger.

Are you sure about this? i thought someone on us3s said you couldn't....who knows...are you talking about stock or just stock internals?

 

Without fuel upgrades, you don't want to run more than 12-15psi.

There have been people run 25psi on stock internals, but they had all the other supporting mods and did a great job of tuning. At that level, one error in judgement you are just asking for trouble.

 

I too was looking into the VR4 scene. I did my research.

There have been people running 30psi just fine too.... but i would call that risky

 

sebba is right if u have a good fuel set up injectors fuel pump and stuff u can run boost over 20psi on stock motor
