When does it slip the most? Does it do it more after long drives? Is it the original clutch?

I feel for ya mitch.. my 92 does the same thing.. right now it's in the "will work" stage but who knows how long that will last.. winter is coming up soon.

my clutch will come and go usually every couple weeks or so.. it will be really crappy and hard to get the car to move and then 2 weeks later it will be ready to rip pavement up.. i don't get it.

yea no pattern to it, drove atlanta to Charlotte no problems then after approx 600 miles leaves me stranded on roadside. tow it home, get in and it works fine for another 100 or so miles and does it again. cant figure it out. dont have much history on the car, none really it has 130,000 miles. no maintenance history at all, thought maybe the slave was sticking so replaced entire hydraulic sys.

to the best of my knowledge when a clutch wears out it will begin to slip and progressivly get worse until it doesnt grab at all. not intermittently . i dont feel its caused by worn clutch

I'm willing to bet your issue is in an out of round pressure plate and a glazed disc. In which the clutch is shot.

ok, i may be able to accept your diagnosis, but would that allow the clutch to grab firm at times and slip other times then after sitting for 6 hours work perfectly

in my cars maint. history i remember seeing a slip for a replaced clutch disc and a clutch bleed and that was supposed to fix it? I doubt it was a permanent fix seeing as how my car is still messed up like mitch is describing.. at the moment my car is in the "works fine stage" and has been so for about 2 weeks.. but before that it was shot for like 3 weeks.. keep in mind i have to drive my car almost daily due to my job.
