Angry Non-mechanic getting taken...

Anyone....

I have questions.. Feel like I am getting taken on a 91 3000GT.

Car had "skip", won't run unless key turned to "on" position.
**Told 2 injectors were bad, told I needed to replace all of them. ($1400.00) Repair not yet done.
** Told computer was bad... ($900.00) Repair not yet done
** Told compression low (Now totals $4500.00 to fix everything) and car is not worth it.

Have a friend who has been helping "getting it fixed". his girlfriend likes the car. They made an offer to buy it at one point, book value, minus repairs. Just told that they could not handle all of the repairs necessary to get it "right" to begin with, but car needs to be moved from repair center. They do not think it's worth anything, since all of this "work" needs to be done.

Car looks awesome. Roughly 165,000 miles on it.

I don't know the first thing about cars, but this all sounds like the price tag to fix it is putting me in an area where I cannot afford it. I feel like they all know this and are trying to get me to sell something that they can fix way less than what I am being told, so someone else can have the car..

Anyone with any thoughts? ANyone that has had these issues with their GT?

If it's a big deal to fix these things, isn't the car still worth something?

mine's got 260k on it, and I wouldn't hesitate to replace the engine and trans if they blew.

To the original poster... You are absolutely being taken. Those prices are INSANE!!!! You could ship your car up to us, and we could swap in a good used engine (from my personal car with 105k miles on it) for about 1/2 what they are trying to charge you!!
