Default Tanny problems,.... Need help...

Ok the car is a 1992 3000gt sl. The tranny is grinding from 2nd to 3rd. I can go into third fine slowly. OR double clutch it to fourth. Can i fix the 2-3 syncro or do i need a new tranny?

You can fix the syncros. However, if you grind them a lot, more than likely you need a new tranny

they can be fixed, but for the price you'll pay to remove, tear it apart, the cost of parts, put it back together, reinstall it.... you may as well buy a good used one.

At least you can still source parts for the tranny (FWD) from Mitsu...

...as far as buying used...that's a roll of the dice IMO.

Years ago when I bought my RT, I searched for a manual, but after test driving close to a dozen examples, I settled on an ATX because it seemed as if Johnny Racecar had already fouled up the 1-2 syncros on all of them.
