What do you think?
The pretty VR4 you see at the bottom of the screen is dead sitting in my back yard. Now a little history on it, 1992 VR4 bought it and converted. Had a top end rebuild and the 2nd gear is grinding. acouple months ago I heard a ticking thought it wa a lifter ended up being a bent valve.
So here is my question. Should I hang in and replace the valves? Or should I dump the engine and tranny and start a new?
P.S. I have the money of a college student.

just swap on a set of new heads. If you're mechanically inclinde, do it yourself.
And just have the trans repaired by a reputable 3/S shop. Your profile says you're in Cali? Not sure how far you are, but a friend of mine is one of the mechanics over at GT Pro, and he's real good. They don't have the greatest reputation over the years, but I can vouch for that one mechanic, at the very least. Bring it there to get fixed if you can. And pray it doesn't cost you $5k.
