I replaced the alternator in my 03 and I am missing the wire that goes to the diode (I think diode) Its a single wire that is by itself. Its got a spade connector on the alternator and the wire to it - well I don't have it.


So what does it connect to ? Does anyone know ?


Would not having it cause the alternator to die ? Cos I have eaten 2 alts in this car in maybe 0 miles, of course the car just sits, never getting driven. Dead battery and then dead alternator has been the sequence.


But I now want to sort it out so I'll drive it regularly.
