Default diamante trans filter

the other day i was driving my 01 diamante, shifting fine, then at 30 mph i noticed i was slowing down so i gave it gas, but no response. i tried all gears. the oil is dirty and at proper level. i dont think the clutches a worn because their was no slipping or rough shifts. i believe that the filter is so plugged that no fluid gets through, acting as if its low on fluid.

i doped the pan and the valve body today, but could not find the filter. autozone gave me an a/t filter that looks like an oil filter. this is the correct filter. at the top of the transmission is 2 circles that look as if a filter can be adapted to the trans, but i cans find any filter on the tranny. does anyone know if and where the filter is???

thanx

Default trans filter

I recently purchased the Diamante manuals for an 00 model. I have an 02 Diamante. I know much has not changed in the 00-02 years. I think 00-01 went unchanged. I know Mitsu made design changes from 01-02. Well enough of that anyway....
I will try to find any information that I can in the manuals regarding transmission and trans filter. The earliest I would post the info would be some time tomorrow. Maybe someone with this knowledge will post something sooner. I'll let you know what I find.

The link above should answer your question. It would have been easier to re-write. I rather give this person credit as he has helped me many of times.
