Default Shaking/vibration under power 2001 Diamante LS

My 2001 Diamante LS with 200K is starting to develop a vibration or shaking felt in the steering wheel and noticeable by passengers at almost all speeds when power is applied. Above 40MPH, it's especially noticeable. If you back off the gas, it disappears. I wonder if it's the front CV joints/axles? My only experience with these previously have been on older Chrysler mini-vans where a noise was noticeable when turning under power. The Mitsu makes no noise, only the vibration.

I also question my motor mounts because when I bought it years ago, I noticed when the hood was up and when it was put into gear, there was quite a move and change in the angle of the engine. This car that my daughter named Sheila (since she was built in Australia) has been a wonderful car with almost no mechanical issues over the years other than wear parts like brakes & etc. The drive train has been flawless so far. Our local dealer is a den of thieves and whenever I've inquired on parts or service for anything, it's at least three time more expensive than our local Toyota dealer for equivalent servicing of my 2000 Toyota 4Runner. Any ideas, comments or help would be greatly appreciated.

I discovered the problem was one of the front CV half-axles. Replaced both, problem solved.
