Question Eclipse SX a/c leaking on driver's side floor

Water is leaking from my a/c on the driver's side. I have a 2004 GS Eclipse and was told this is a fairly common issue from 2000-2005. A mechanic just blew out the line and thought it would be fine, it wasn't. My car flooded again. I called Mitsubishi and they said it is a $16 (#MN121314) part but with 5 hours labor it would be $616!! It goes between the evaporator case and the firewall and to get to it you have to remove the dash. Another mechanic suggested an "O-ring" or even a small hose on the nipple between the firewall and evaporator, would either of these other methods work? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

There is no such thing as an Eclipse 'SX'.

It's bull****, there's some crap in the system that stops up the drain. All you have to do is squirt some water up the drain hose an it'll come down. Some compressed air works too.

It's just a hose hanging down from the middle of the car.

Thank you Sebba so much, but there is no hose at all, that's the problem. It's just flush with the fire wall, so water is going back into the car. Do you know what size/kind of hose I could use? Or would this so called O ring work?

Go **** yourself. You don't pay me for my time you entitled little kunt, so don't bitch when the answers you wanted weren't given. You don't even know what ****ing car you own! How about not being so ****ing lazy, grab a wrench and do it yourself.

I'm willing to bet you're female, just based on your special breed of entitlement because you're so used to getting everything you ****ing want.

EDIT:

Female from Chicago... what a surprise.
