Default 04 Endeavor 3.8 harmonic balancer removal problem

Balancer slides back and forth some on the crank but won`t come off. When you try and pull it off there is suction that pulls it right back on. Could someone tell me the procedure? Don`t want to do something wrong. Thanks in advance!

OK what is going on is the bottom timing belt gear is coming off with the balancer and the tension of the belt is pulling it back in. That`s what the suction is. So what do I do to get the balancer off without the gear coming with it?

I did not know the timing gear had an alignment pin on it that went through the balancer. After heating up the pin I put a little outward pressure on the balancer and tapped the pin and the balancer came right off. Anyway all is good now.
I forgot to mention that the reason I was taking it apart was to replace the timing belt tensioner because I had that awful cold engine start-up noise.
