Brake Light, maybe pads?
Hi all,
My 2005 XLS started a little "brake squeaking" and the brake light started coming on every few days about two months ago. Now the brake light is on all the time (brakes work fine). I checked the fluid and it is just above the "low" line. The pads look good from the outside.
I only have 24,500 on it so far, can it need pads alerady? Any suggestions on type of pads?
Oh, and my wife drives it most of the time. She's a stop on the dime type.........
Thanx,
Steve

Problem solved, just thought I'd let you all know:
Had the day off today, so I took it to the dealer to have it checked out (and I let them change the oil). Dealer says that the brake fluid was an ounce too low. He claimed that they come from the factory that way. Whatever....
The pads were only 5/32 front and 6/32 rear. I got lots of pad left.
