I have had my 04 Endeavor XLS for almost a year and I have noticed that during strenuous driving (up passes, or accellarating fast) that when I park the vehicle and get out I notice an odd smell. Its kind of hard to explain, its almost like burning rubber or burning dust or oil or something. It only has 60K miles on it. I rarely drive it hard or up passes and under normal highway or city driving with light to moderate work on the engine I don't notice this. I have owned many trucks, cars, vans, SUV's, 17 to be exact and I have never noticed a smell like this before. Does anyone have any ideas on what I might look at??

 

Did you figure out what the smell was its been a while since your post but I have the same issue is it as simple as getting a oil change ? Or something more
