timing belt or chains?

Default timing belt or chains?

to all the V6 engines have timing belts or chains? if they do have chains in what years did they use them?

belts. usually. a thirty second google search would have told you this. your engine displacement and/or model number would have made it even easier.

Thanks for the reply...i guess i was just making sure that it was indeed a belt, and so it is.
The car has about 62 000 miles on it, is it safe to say it can last up to the 100 000miles that mitsubishi says it should be changed at?
we will be going through winter in a few months..

for any V6 mitsubishi

I do them at 90,000 just to be different and safe

if the belt breaks at anytime the pistons hit the valves

replace the tensioner bearing and check the timing cam seals for leaks

you can get a timing belt that is supposed to last 5 years but have not located a supplier

the water pump needs to be changed as well at the same time
or else it is double work when they leak or corrode
