OK so it's not a fix but I've tried everything else to snake through the firewall and get the stupid hidden hose and after multiple attempts and angles I finally threw in the towell and took another approach.
Under the car are rubber plugs directly under the floor pan for both fron and back, driver and passenger areas. The plugs are color matched to the vehicle and sprayed with a sealer that matches the car so it not really obvious buit look for a round indention.
All I did was pull out the plug under the drivers side floor board and the water gushed out that had been sitting under the carpet, I left it out and now the water at least has a place to rain and doesnt soak the carpet.
Like I said not a fix but the carpet is dry and not rotting from constant dampness.
It'll have to do and works until someone dies from slippery pedals and Mitsubishi does what they should have already done and that's issue a recall and re-run the stupid drain hose on the oputside of the firewall or at least extend it so it is accessible.

i am excited about your additional explanation especially the second photograph. cant wait to give it a try.
i tried. did not find the hole. after 3hours i threw in the towel. angry of course. mitsubishi should actually come out with an explanation why they chose to hide that damned hose!

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi galant and the driver side floor FLOODS!
literally there is a small puddle in the floor behind the driverside seat. The Water starts from the front driver floor and goes all the back to the rear.
Is there anything i can do without sending the car to a mechanic?

Dear Mitsu owners like meyself. I also have read this forum and others up and down for a solution to this poor design. I will tell you my solution and you may go with what you like. I have an 04 Endeavor, that use to leak water on the drivers side floor when the a/c was running and it was hummid outside. (Tx). After days of research and hours of frustration, I combined to procedures that I got from this forum. First let me say thanks to those of use who posted the solutions.
I used the drilling hole method first, in the lower corner of the air flow chamber. Stuffed a coat hanger through the drain line, pulled out paper and some water ran out. Not alot though, so I thought WHAT! this didnt work?
Alright, I vacummed out the hole to get all the water I could out. Then I just used some clear caulking and a rubber plug to seal the hole.
After this, I followed step 2 from a user on this forum. I went under the car on the drivers side (outside) and noticed 2 rubber plugs that had been painted over (white) and used a screw driver to pop those out. This did allow water to flow out from the vehicle that had been settling for who knows how long? I left these holes open and the hole I drilled covered. This has been about a month, and I have had dry flooring every since, and also I can see the condensation dripping on the ground now, as before I had none. The cabin air filter is not needed, I researched this also. It probably does help, but its a pain to add to this car removing the dash and glove compartment. So I'll leave that to you, as long as I have dry flooring im GOOD! Good luck, its an easy fix, just take your time. I was in your shoes before believe me, its frustrating. GOOD LUCK! Mitsu's

I found the hose brethren!
About 3-4 litres of water drained out. Swoshing sound gone.
pls follow the advise of Driver and others to find the hole. when you ve found the hole all you need is a coat hanger no more than 30cm in lenght. anything longer will be clumsy.
common error is to probe at an angle. the hose is horizontal.
note that the hose is not directly behind the hole but towards the edge on the driver's side. if you probe horinzontally and towards the edge, it is a matter of 5-7minutes before the showers come. good luck.
