Default better engine

now IM juss wondering, but who has a better/stronger engine...internally & power-wise....an STi or an EVO, cuz lots of people say the internals of an STI are weaker but IM not really sure.

The STi is much weaker than the EVO. the EVO I have seen making 522AWHP on the stock bottom end. Sti's start to have trouble after a few bolt ons. When they get up around 400AWHP they start cracking pistons, the H4 style motor runs even more hot than a L4 and the car has weak pistons so when you get higher horsepower the ringlands crack very easily. Only the JDM STI had forged internals and it was a 2.0 we got the 2.5L and didnot get the pistons.

they sacrificed pistons for 2.5 engine, yep more power for 2.5 but weak internals. thats a no go for a tuner.

well that's not true about the STI. I have an EVO8 and I also have buddies that have the STI. I've seen STI's outpower alot of EVO's with just a head tune and exhaust. You should all take into consideration that each and every car is not made the same. Some have difference tolerances when it comes to internals, power ability and every other component. Ya, sometimes I'm bias towards subaru's, but when it comes to performance and also personal experience, I am not one to say one's better then the other.
You all just have to look at all the factors when it comes to this type of question.
