Default 2000 4cly upsteam oxygen sensor replacement

attempting to replace my upstream oxygen sensor. i have the old sensor unscwered but cannot find the electrical connector. it goes into the car and i can't seem to pull it out to unplug it and put the new one in.
do i have to take something else off?
if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

connector is inside the vehicle near the gas pedal area. you will have to pull the carpet back to get to it.
