Default 2001 Galant Overheats, liquid inside

Hey Guys,

New guy here. Wife comes home today and says her car over heated so she put the heat on and drove home. The temp gauge went back down to cool when she did this. She also said there is liquid on the floor on the passenger side and I can see its wet, probably coolant. Is the heater core toast or is it something simple like a seal or o ring?

may have been some leakage due to the excess pressure built up when overheating. also i would check ur coolant. when is the last time u flushed it? and radiator cap as well as make sure fans are working and none of the hoses got split from the pressure.

If its coolant on the floor its probably the heater core.

What if its water? Where is the water coming from, it doesn't look like coolant but than again I don't know if she had coolant or water to begin with but I assume coolant. I'm gonna have to do a better inspection of the situation this weekend.

If it is water, what would the problem be then?
